About Us
Located in the South East of Ireland, Shoalwater Timberframe is a leading timberframe company, specialising in the production of passive houses.
Shoalwater Timberframe was established in 1999 with a vision to produce high quality timberframe houses, a concept which was new in Ireland at the time but was attracting a lot of interest. We were soon approached by a local building contractor in conjunction with Wexford County Council to design and manufacture an affordable housing scheme. Shoalwater Timberframe was the only timberframe company in for tender and despite being in a market dominated by concrete, we won the contract.
This was a first of its kind in Ireland and a huge step in the right direction for the Irish construction industry. Since then, Shoalwater Timberframe have continued to lead the industry towards a more sustainable future by popularising the concept of sustainable building.
We are approved by the National Standards Authority of Ireland and have completed small and large housing schemes for well known building contractors. Despite our experience in large projects, we also work to meet the demand of private houses.
Our Team
Here at Shoalwater Timberframe, we employ a small team of highly skilled and motivated craftsmen, who not only manufacture but also install the houses on sites across the country, ensuring continued quality during this important stage of the build. While the minimum standard for one of our craftsmen is a carpentry trade, they are also fully trained in all aspects of passive house technology including airtightness, thermal bridging and installation of ecological insulations.
For a Shoalwater Timberframe craftsman, its not just a case of knowing how, but knowing why.
