Design

At Shoalwater Timberframe, we offer a very comprehensive design package, we incorporate many aspects into this process including structural design and airtightness detailing without compromising the architects vision. The entire design process is overseen by Donal, his years of experience in the industry allows him to see problems that would occur later in the build during the design stage. This ensures everything runs smoothly during manufacture and the on site construction phase of your home. We are committed to making your home as efficient as possible without sacrificing the architects vision. Everything is possible.

Manufacture

All of our projects are manufactured in our factory in Wexford by our team of skilled craftsmen. We have strict quality control measures in place to ensure everything is of the highest quality. Company Director, Alan Walsh who has been part of the company for fifteen years, manages this phase of the build. In addition to holding a degree in Energy Management, his experience in the industry ensures every aspect of your home is complaint with our unwavering standard.

Site Procedure

To continue our quality control process, we erect every project ourselves using the same crew in both the factory and on site. This ensures that nothing is missed, as every member of the team is already familiar with the details of your home prior to the delivery. Every project is surveyed before our soleplate system is installed. This allows us to erect your home with extreme accuracy. It is important that airtightness procedures begin during this stage of the build, to meet the stringent passive house airtightness requirements.

Airtightness

Our team specialise in airtightness and producing a completely airtight envelop. We use high quality sustainable products which have a minimal effect on the environment. Not only do these products ensure airtightness but they also allow for optimal breathability for the building itself. Having an airtight envelope will benefit you in many ways from providing a good quality of life for you and your family to drastic financial and energy savings each year. Upon completion of this phase, we will also provide for a door blower test to be performed by one of Ireland’s leading specialists. This test result can then be carried through the remainder of the build keeping all other trades on their toes.

Insulation

Our commitment to being environmentally aware is evident throughout every aspect of the build particularly with our choice of insulations. In every project we use sustainable and ecological insulations, these include products such as Cellulose, Thermofibre, Gutex and Thermofleece. These are all natural insulations that allow for excellent levels of breathability in your external envelope. Every member of the Shoalwater team is highly trained in the installation of these products, and is included in our comprehensive package.
